Fizzlers is a wholly owned subsidiary of Creative Computer Specialist (CCS), which has been in continuous operation since 1984.  CCS began operations with one the first programs to manage independent video stores long before Blockbuster, Erol's, or Hollywood video existed.

And that is our penchant, our passion, our chosen business model; to offer the small independent businessperson the tools to grow, compete and provide whatever services they offer without the hassle of worrying about data processing or other task outside the scope of that particular business's expertise.

The idea for fizzlers.com was born in 2001 / 2002 when the owner, Mike Way, attempted to search for a vendor in his hometown of Shady Side Maryland.  It did not take long to discover that most of the small but successful businesses in his home town did not have an Internet presence.   Mike discovered a plethora of independent shopping guides in various pamphlet forms at local businesses. The local chamber of commerce had listed a few vendors, but no one had a compendium of all the businesses and services available in the area.

Mike, an accomplished webmaster, began to plan for a website to fill the need. After discussing the project with several key businesses in the area, all of whom agreed to be charter members of the new site, jumped enthusiastically at both the idea and opportunity.

Originally, fizzlers.com was to be a collection of organized static web pages.  Soon after development however, ASP (active server pages) was decided to be a more efficient method to keep what each vendor wanted to tell his/her public, up to date.  A database engine was developed and resides on various servers with ample bandwidth all over the net.

Fizzlers first year will perfect the business operations. Our second year will cover the eastern United States up to the Mississippi River and our third year will blanket the country and we expect to begin operations with Fizzlers Europe, Fizzlers Canada & Fizzlers South of the Border in subsequent years.

There are no plans to take fizzlers.com public or to sell. Fizzlers is proud to be a Maryland based business and intends to remain so.  Press releases will be available from this page in the near future.
